What NOT to make on a diode
- Bare polished metal items: needs spray; fiber faster.
- Clear acrylic signs: diode can't engrave clear; CO2 is the right tool.
- Cutting thick wood (10mm+): possible but slow. CO2 cuts these in 1-2 passes vs diode's 8-12.
- Production photo engraving on bare metal: fiber is 50-100× faster.
- Color anneal on stainless: fiber MOPA only.
- Cutting fabric in volume: CO2 way faster.
